Sketchy, nearly childlike shapes are present in many pieces by Dutch designer Maarten Baas. The knife, fork, tablespoon and teaspoon seem to have gone directly from sketch to the factory.

The irregular zigzag knife-edge, for example, is an ostensibly simple intervention, but it’s actually the most difficult part of production. The cutlery set is available in different versions.
